This committee organizes PTA receptions including the open house, staff appreciation breakfasts or lunches, and other special events throughout the year.  Parent volunteers coordinate the refreshments and handle appropriate commemorative gifts.

Kensington Labor Day Parade
Kensington Parkwood Elementary School has representation in the Town Of Kensington’s Annual Labor Day Parade. Usually the Principal and members of the school community participate in the parade.

Dads & Donuts - October 12, 2009
A PTA sponsored breakfast for dads and other special people. Usually coincides with the Columbus Day Open House and is before school.

Holiday Bazaar - December 5, 2009
The Holiday Bazaar provides an opportunity for the children to shop for inexpensive holiday gifts.  Parents donate small craft items and white elephants (gently used household items, books, games, and toys) for the bazaar.  Children may purchase gifts at a modest price and gift-wrapping is free.  Several craft projects are available for the children to make during the bazaar. There is also a 5th grade bake sale that is provided by parent volunteers.

International Night - January 28, 2010
International Night provides an opportunity to highlight and celebrate cultural diversity at KP. KP families and children are invited to share their own heritage or the heritage of others through native dress, displays, music and food. KP has a wide range of international influences that we proudly celebrate at our school.


Bingo Night- February 20, 2010
Come and have a fun night out with your family at our annual bingo night. Food and drinks are sold and prizes are awarded for all ages at this wonderful community event.

Evening at the Rink - TBA
Each year the PTA rents a local ice skating rink so that students and their families, as well as teachers and staff and their families may enjoy an evening of fun and exercise.

Family Fun Day/Night- May 8, 2010
This year-end event provides KP families and the community with an evening of fun, carnival games, raffles and food.  Parent volunteers schedule and coordinate this event.  KP parents and staff volunteer to run the carnival games.
