What is the Kensington Parkwood Elementary School PTA (KPPTA)?
The KPPTA provides support to our principal and staff.
- Volunteers provide support in the classroom, school office, media center, peer mediation, music room, and PE
Our PTA is a resource for parents, teachers and the community.
- We speak to promote the welfare of KP children to MCPS, the Montgomery County School Board and the County Council.
- We provide parent education seminars.
- The KPPTA supports SPARK! A free, volunteer run and community based tutoring program for KP and North Bethesda students.
- Volunteers compile and distribute the annual school directory - free to all families.
We raise money to buy the school resources that are not provided by MCPS.
- Classroom books and reading materials, such as dictionaries and leveled reading materials
- Office equipment, such as a poster printer and copier
- Computer equipment and software, such as the Accelerated Reader (AR) program.
- Teacher resource materials
- Classroom supplies
- Grounds improvement projects including playground equipment, picnic benches and 25 tables for events.
- Modernization fund items such as the upgrade to the sound system in the All Purpose Room (APR)
The KPPTA demonstrates what an excellent staff we have by providing teacher and
staff appreciation activities throughout the year.

And finally, the KPPTA provides many family fun activities.
